Mark H. Rose is Professor of History at Florida Atlantic University, where he has taught since 1990. Rose is the author, coauthor, or coeditor of nine books. Rose is also the author or coauthor of more than forty articles in refereed journals including Business History Review (Cambridge University Press), the Journal of Urban History (Sage), the Journal of Planning History (Sage), and the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society. In addition, he has commented or presented papers at more than 100 historians’ meetings such as the Organization of American Historians, the American Historical Association, the Business History Conference, and the Urban History Association. Rose was twice a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, once in the Department of History and once in the Department of the History and Sociology of Science. In 2010, Rose was University Scholar of the Year. Mark was the founding and general editor of “Technology and Urban Growth,” an award-winning book series published by Temple University Press (nine books); and he was the founding editor and coeditor of “Business, Politics, and Society,” an award-winning book series published by the University of Pennsylvania Press (eighteen books). Mark is a former president of the Business History Conference. More recently, the Society for American City and Regional Planning History and the Business History Conference chose Mark for their lifetime achievement awards (see below)
